Gokulam Restaurant

Gokulam Restaurant is located at No 86 A on Mission Street in Pondicherry. We are right above Sri Krishna Sweets and near the Chetty Kovil. It’s a central spot in the 605001 area, so there’s always a lot of foot traffic outside. We have a modest dining area where we serve our customers. It’s not a place with dim lighting or expensive decorations. It’s just a regular restaurant where the focus is on the stove and the tables. We’ve been here for some time, and we have a routine that works for us. The morning starts with getting the ingredients in and the kitchen fired up. Most of the people who eat here are locals who live around Mission Street or people working in the nearby shops. We don't spend money on big ads or try to sound like a corporate chain. We’re just a local business. Sometimes we run out of things or a table wobbles, but we fix it and keep going. The staff is small and we all pitch in with whatever needs doing, whether it’s cleaning up or taking orders. It’s a busy life, especially during the tourist season when Pondicherry gets crowded. But even then, we just stick to what we know. We provide a place to sit and eat, and that’s about it. No fancy talk, just honest work every day of the week.
