Ginger & Garlic Restaurant

Our place is called Ginger & Garlic and you can find us at Hotel JAI Paradise on Kamaraj Salai in Thattanchavadi. It’s a bit of a specific spot to get to, so we usually tell people to look for the MOH Petrol Bunk or the Ragavendhra Nagar area. We are actually tucked away behind the Volkswagen showroom, which makes it a bit quieter than being right on the main road. Pondicherry can be very busy, especially with all the bikes and cars in Thattanchavadi, so being a little off the path is actually quite nice. We’ve been operating here for a while and we see a lot of the same faces from the neighborhood. It’s a simple setup inside the hotel. We don't have fancy decorations or anything like that. The kitchen is always busy because we do a lot of orders for the people staying in the hotel and for people living nearby. The staff is just a small group of us who have worked together for a long time. We know where to get the good vegetables at the market and we bring them in every morning. It gets a bit hot in the kitchen during the lunch rush, but that's just how it goes. Sometimes people struggle to find the entrance because of the showroom, but once they find us, they usually come back. It's just an honest little spot in a busy part of Pondy.
