Cusina is located over at Lailas County on Quai D Ambour Salai. It’s a quiet enough street in Pondicherry but it definitely has its busy moments. If you find Frenchmade Paper, you’ve basically found us because we’re right near them. Our spot is at number 8. The building has that typical Pondicherry feel to it. Inside, things are kept pretty simple. We spend a lot of our time just keeping things organized. The weather gets really hot here, so we’re always thankful for the shade of the building. We have a small team here. Most of us have been around for a few years now. We don’t really have a big corporate setup or anything like that. It’s more about the daily routine of opening up, checking the supplies, and getting to work. The Quai D Ambour Salai area has a lot of history and you can feel it when you walk around outside. We’ve got some regular neighbors who drop by just to say hello. It’s not the kind of place with big flashing signs. We just have our name on the door and that’s about it. Sometimes the street gets a bit crowded with bikes, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We keep our workspace tidy and just get on with the day. It’s a steady kind of life here at Lailas County. We like being near the paper shop because it’s a landmark people know.
