Shri Hari Priya Vaishno Dhabha

Our dhaba is in Ward Number 10, right on the Railway Road in Samalkha. It’s called Shri Hari Priya Vaishno Dhabha. We are situated in the Gurunanak Mohalla area, just behind Bansal Tipe College. Because the college is so close, we see a lot of students coming in between their classes. They are always in a hurry and usually quite loud, which makes the place feel alive. The railway station isn't far either, so we get people who are waiting for their trains or have just arrived in town. The road gets very dusty with all the trucks and cars passing by Panipat. We have to wipe the tables down every ten minutes it feels like. The kitchen is quite big because we make large pots of food every day. We don't have a printed menu; we just tell people what we have made that day. It's usually whatever vegetables were fresh at the market in the morning. I spend most of my day near the stove. It gets very hot, especially in June. We have some wooden benches for people to sit on. It's not the most comfortable, but it works for a quick meal. We've been running this place for many years and have seen Samalkha grow a lot. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s a simple life but it keeps us busy and the regulars seem to like it.
