You can find the World Forum Of Food And Wine at the Le Meridien Hotel over at Windsor Place. We operate out of Suite No. 9. It’s an interesting setup being based inside a hotel building. It means there are always new people coming and going in the hallways, and the main lobby is usually buzzing with activity. Our office is where we handle all the organizing for the food and wine forum events. A lot of the work involves sitting at a desk for hours, making phone calls, and sending out emails to get people together. It’s a lot of coordination between different groups. Sometimes we are planning for months just for a single event to happen. It can get pretty stressful when deadlines are coming up, and we are still waiting on people to get back to us with their details. We have a few desks crammed into the suite, and there are usually stacks of brochures or flyers sitting in the corner waiting to be mailed. It’s not a huge operation, just a few of us trying to stay on top of the busy schedule. We don’t really have a typical corporate vibe since we’re working out of a hotel suite. We just use the space we have to get the job done properly. Sometimes we go down to the hotel cafe for a quick break just to get away from the computer screens for a few minutes. It is simple work but it takes time.
