The Chinese

Working at The Chinese in Connaught Place is always interesting because of how much goes on in Cannought Circle. We are located at F 14/15, which is a busy section of the circle. You see all sorts of people walking by, tourists looking at maps and office workers rushing to catch the metro. Being in CP means there’s never really a quiet moment. The building itself is old, like most of the structures here, and it has that specific character you only find in central Delhi. We’ve been at F 14/15 for a while now, and we’ve seen the area change quite a bit over the years. We just focus on getting the food out. It’s not a fancy place with lots of decorations; we keep things pretty basic so we can focus on the cooking. Sometimes the line gets a bit long because Cannought Circle is such a hub, but we do our best to keep up. The kitchen can get pretty hot, especially in the summer months, but that’s just part of the business. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything fancy. We just open the doors and start the day. If you find yourself in the F block, you’ll probably see our sign. It’s a straightforward place for anyone looking for a meal while they are out shopping or working in the city center. We just keep things moving as fast as we can every single day.
