This is Mayurbhanj Krushak Sathi Producer Company Limited. Our home base is at Chotalal Mohanta’s place in Debendrapur, specifically in Word No-25 of Takat Pur. We aren't a big company owned by some distant investors. We are a group of local farmers from Mayurbhanj who decided to work together. It’s a lot better than trying to do everything on your own. Most of our days are spent out in the dirt, dealing with whatever the season is throwing at us. The office in Takat Pur is just where we keep our books and have our meetings to decide what to grow next. It’s a very informal place, often filled with the sound of farmers discussing prices and rain patterns. We share the costs of the seeds and the trucks that take our produce to the market. It’s not always easy, and sometimes we have disagreements, but we always figure it out because we are all in the same boat. We don't use any fancy language or have a mission statement on the wall. We just want to make a decent living for our families. The work is hard and it never really stops, but there is a certain pride in growing things with your own hands. We are just simple people from the district who found a way to support each other. If you come by, you’ll likely find us drinking tea and planning the next harvest.
