Kritikhairikaman Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our company is located in the village of Bisida, which is near Karanjia in the Mayurbhanj district. We are based out of Ramesh Ch Behera’s house, which is a place most people in Bisida know well. Mayurbhanj is a large district, and being in the Karanjia part of it means we are surrounded by a lot of forest and farmland. As a farmer producer company, our daily life revolves entirely around the seasons. We spend our time checking on the rice and the other crops that the local farmers are growing. It’s a quiet life for the most part, but it gets busy during the harvest when everyone is trying to get their produce sorted and sold. The office at Ramesh’s place is just a simple room where we keep our ledgers and have our meetings. We don't use a lot of fancy words or have a big corporate strategy; we just want to make sure the Kritikhairikaman group is doing okay and that the farmers are getting what they need. Sometimes the rains are late or the pests are bad, and we all sit around and try to figure out what to do next. It’s a very local thing, and we mostly just talk in the local dialect and drink tea while we work. We’ve been part of this community for a long time and we just want to keep the farming tradition going in Bisida.
