Sri Udhaya Bricks

We have been running Sri Udhaya Bricks at 421, Chatrapathy for a while now. It is just a regular brickyard where we spend most of our time dealing with red earth and water. My father was doing this before me and I just sort of took over when the time came. It is not fancy work at all. You get quite dirty every single day and the sun really beats down on the yard. We have a few guys who help with the moulding and the firing of the kiln. Sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate and we have to cover everything up quick before the rain ruins the wet bricks. That is always a bit of a headache. The address is easy to find if you are around Chatrapathy. We just keep our heads down and get the orders ready for whoever needs them for their house or a wall. There is always noise from the trucks coming in and out. The piles of bricks take up most of the space so there isn't much room to move around. We don't have a big office or anything, just a small desk where we keep the books and talk to people who stop by. It’s hard work and your back usually hurts by the end of the week, but it’s what we know how to do. We just stay busy and try to keep things moving along without too much trouble.
