About Aarish Bricks – Building & Construction Material in Madurai
Aarish Bricks is located on Amman Koil Street in Vadapalani. Being near the Railway Station Road means it’s always loud and there’s a lot of movement outside. It’s a tight space here, typical for this part of the city. We have to be careful with how we stack things so we don’t block the street or get in the way of the neighbors. I’ve been working at 2/97 for years now. It’s a family-run kind of thing. We don’t use fancy words to describe what we do. We just get the clay, mold the bricks, and get them fired. The heat from the kiln can be intense, especially in the summer months. My shirt is usually soaked through by mid-morning. We talk to a lot of people who are just passing through the station or living in the apartments nearby. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but there’s a rhythm to it. Sometimes the bricks come out a slightly different color, but that’s just the nature of the clay we get. We don’t have a receptionist. If you want to talk to someone, you just walk in and find me or one of the guys. We usually have some tea around four o’clock. It’s just a normal brickyard in a busy city. We do our work, make sure the orders are ready for pickup, and go home. There is no complicated process, just the clay and the fire.
