Sarathy Fried Chicken

Sarathy Fried Chicken is sitting at No 23 on the Madurai Bye Pass Road in Ellis Nagar. We are right near Hotel Jeyasakthi, so most people find us when they are driving through or heading out of the city. It’s a small shop, not a big fancy restaurant. We have a counter where you order and a few places to sit if you don’t want to take your food to go. Since we are on the bye-pass, there is always the sound of cars and bikes zooming past the front door. The kitchen is small and you can hear the sizzle of the chicken hitting the hot oil all day long. The smell usually drifts out onto the sidewalk, which is how a lot of people end up stopping by. We don't have any air conditioning or fancy decor, just some simple lights and a menu board that we’ve had for a while. It’s the kind of place where you get grease on your napkins and you don’t really mind because the food is hot and ready. The staff is just a few local guys who know how to keep the fryers going when things get busy in the evenings. It’s a basic spot for anyone who wants a quick snack without having to deal with the traffic and crowds of the main market areas. We’re just here on the edge of Ellis Nagar doing our thing.
