Nambi Vilas

We are located over at Maha Square Apartments on V P Rathna Swamy Road. Most people in the Chinna Chokkikulam area use the Income Tax Office as a landmark to find where we are. Nambi Vilas is a small operation, and we like keeping it that way. Madurai is famous for its food, and we just wanted to contribute our own small bit to that long tradition. We do not have a massive menu with hundreds of items, but the things we do have, we try to get right every single time we cook them. It is a busy part of town, so we see a lot of office workers coming in during their lunch breaks. We know people are often in a hurry to get back to work, so we try to get the food out as quickly as we can without making mistakes. The space is simple and clean, nothing too flashy or expensive. We focus more on what is happening in the pots and pans than what the curtains look like. My family has lived in Madurai for many generations, so we know what people around here expect when they sit down for a meal. It is all about being consistent day after day. Sometimes the place gets a bit crowded and you might have to wait a few minutes for a chair, but that is just how it goes in a small shop. We are just regular people cooking for other regular people.
