Oru Sorru

Oru Sorru is right in Tallakulam, just across from the Periyar statue. It’s a pretty easy spot to find if you know Madurai at all. We are located in the SMV Balu Ambalam complex on Alagar Kovil Road. It’s a busy street with lots of people walking by all the time, especially students and workers. We’ve been here for a bit now. The shop isn't huge, but we make it work with what we have. Every morning starts early for us to get everything ready before the first people show up. The traffic on Alagar Kovil Road can be a bit much in the evenings, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We see a lot of the same faces coming in from around the neighborhood every day. It’s nice to recognize people and say hello. We just focus on what we do and try to keep things moving so no one has to wait too long. Sometimes the weather is really hot so we stay inside near the fans as much as possible. Madurai has that dry heat that gets to you. The complex has a few other shops too, like a mobile place and some others. Being near the statue helps people find us when they are lost or visiting from outside. We don't have fancy decorations or big lights. Just a regular place where we work every day. We’ve got the address 15/157 on the door so you know it's us. It's just a simple life here in the complex.
