Vadakkans Catering Service is located out in Kaithapoyil, which is in the Adivaram area of Kozhikode. It is a nice part of the world to work in. We have been here for quite a few years now, and we’ve become a regular fixture in Kaithapoyil. Our work is pretty simple—we cook for people. Whether it is a small wedding or a local meeting, we just handle the food. It is a lot of work, and our hands are rarely clean for long. We don't use any high-tech equipment, just the traditional stuff we’ve always used in Kozhikode. The kitchen in Kaithapoyil is where we spend almost all our time. It’s hot and loud, but we are used to the noise by now. We aren't some big corporation with branches everywhere. We are just here in Adivaram. People know they can find us when they need something cooked for a group. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything fancy. We just write down the orders and get to work. Sometimes we have to travel a bit around Kozhikode to deliver, but Kaithapoyil is where we do all the hard part. It is just us, a few workers, and a lot of pots. We don't make it more complicated than it needs to be. Just a local catering outfit doing what we do.
