Ganga Catering Service

Ganga Catering Service is based in Manassery, which is near Mukkam in Kozhikode. It’s a family-run thing that we’ve been doing for years. My father started it with just one big pot, and now we have a whole kitchen full of equipment. We handle all sorts of events around here. Usually, it’s weddings or small family gatherings where people want a good meal without doing all the cooking themselves. The morning starts with getting fresh supplies from the local market. We like to see what we are buying. The kitchen is always noisy with the sound of knives and people talking over each other. It gets really hot, especially in the afternoons, but we are used to it by now. Mukkam is a nice place, but the roads can be narrow, so driving the food containers around takes some skill. We’ve had a few spills in the back of the truck over the years, which is never fun to clean up. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just focus on getting the rice cooked right and making sure there is enough for everyone to eat. Most of our work comes from people who saw us at another party and liked what they had. It’s a straightforward business and we just try to do our job every day without making too much of a fuss.
