Friends Catring Service

Friends Catring Service has been operating out of Choolamvayal on Wayanad Road for a long time. We chose the name because that is exactly what we are, just a group of friends who knew how to cook. Kunthamangalam is a busy area, and we are right there in the middle of it. Our kitchen is where everything happens. It is not a modern space with fancy gadgets, just big burners and heavy iron pans that have seen a lot of use. We wake up early, sometimes before the sun is even up, to start the fires. Chopping onions is probably the part nobody likes, but we all take turns. On Wayanad Road, the traffic can be a nightmare, so we always worry about getting the food to the venue on time. There have been a few close calls with the van, but we haven't been late yet. We do mostly local food, the kind people here in Kozhikode grew up eating. It’s simple work but it keeps us on our feet all day. Sometimes we argue about how much salt to put in, but we always figure it out in the end. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just hear about us from their cousins or neighbors and give us a call. It’s a local thing and we are happy to keep it that way for as long as we can.
