Mac

Our place, Mac, is situated in Thamarassery, right in that busy part of Kozhikode where the roads start heading up towards the hills. We have been working out of this location for a while, just doing our thing with food and service. It’s a pretty straightforward setup we have here. There is always something to do, whether it’s cleaning the equipment or sorting out the orders for the coming week. Thamarassery is a good place to be because it’s a bit of a hub for people traveling through. Our team is small, but they work hard and know the area well. We don't spend money on big signs or polished advertisements. Most people just find us by word of mouth or by seeing us working at a neighbor's house. The kitchen can get quite hot in the afternoons, but that’s just part of the job when you’re dealing with big pots of food. We try to keep a steady pace so we don't get overwhelmed when multiple orders come in at once. It’s not a fancy life, just honest work every day. We spend most of our time on our feet, making sure everything is ready for the next delivery. Sometimes we have to drive quite a bit to get to the event venues around Kozhikode. It’s a lot of driving and a lot of cooking, but we are used to it by now. The hills around here make for some nice scenery.
