We are located at 18 C, Gulu Ostagar Lane, right near Beadon Street. Sen Mahashay Pvt Ltd has been around this part of town for a very long time. It’s an old building and the walls show the age, but that’s just how it is in this neighborhood. We spend our mornings getting things ready, mostly focusing on the traditional sweets and items people expect from us. The kitchen area gets quite hot, especially in the summer months when the humidity in Kolkata is high. You can hear the noise of the street from inside, with the rickshaws and people talking. It’s not a quiet place, but it is home for us. We don’t have a marketing team or anyone telling us how to talk to customers. We just serve the people who walk in from Gulu Ostagar Lane. Some customers have been coming here since they were children, and now they bring their own kids. We use the same old recipes and don't try to change things just to look modern. The floors are a bit worn down from all the footsteps over the years. We keep the counters clean and the trays full. It is a lot of standing on your feet and repetitive work, but it is what we do. If you want something fancy and shiny, this probably isn't the place, but it’s real and it’s been here forever. We just focus on the food and the people.
