Dash Of This Dash Of That

The shop is tucked away at P-91 in Bangur Avenue, specifically in Block-D. It’s a bit of a unique name, Dash Of This Dash Of That, and it usually makes people stop and look twice when they see the sign. We’re located in a residential area, so we know a lot of the neighbors by name and see the same faces walking their dogs or going to the market every morning. The space inside is cozy, and we have a lot of different things going on at once. Most of our day is spent organizing the inventory and helping customers find what they need. It’s not a huge operation, just a few of us working together to keep the shelves stocked and the place looking decent. Bangur Avenue is a nice part of Kolkata, and being in Block-D means we’re in a fairly quiet spot compared to the main roads. We sometimes have trouble with the lighting in the back room, and the floorboards creak a little when you walk over them, but it gives the place some character. We don't really do big advertising; people mostly find us by walking past or hearing about us from someone else in the neighborhood. It’s a simple business, and we just focus on being there for the local community and providing whatever it is they’re looking for that day. We enjoy the pace here and the chance to chat with people who stop by.
