Sananda Spices

Sananda Spices is located over on Dr. A.K. Paul Rd., right at P-2. If you walk by, you can usually smell whatever we’re working on that day. It’s a small operation, mostly just a few of us handling the bags of spices. We spend a lot of time cleaning, sorting, and packing stuff up. It’s dusty work and our clothes always end up smelling like turmeric or chili by the end of the shift. We get our supplies from various places and then get them ready for people who need them. We don’t really do big advertising or anything. People just know we are here on this road. Sometimes the machines act up or the delivery truck is late, and we just have to figure it out as we go. It’s not a polished corporate office. It’s more of a workspace where things actually get done. We’ve been around this part of town for a bit and know the neighbors. The humidity sometimes makes things tricky with the powders, so we have to be careful about how we store everything. It’s a lot of manual labor, lifting heavy sacks and making sure the labels are stuck on straight. We just try to keep the quality decent and make sure the orders go out on time. It’s simple work but it keeps us busy from morning until evening. That's just how it is here.
