Being based at 24 Ballygunge Park means we are in a fairly nice part of the city. Pratik Food Products Pvt. Ltd. is where I spend most of my waking hours. It’s an office and a bit of a storage space combined into one. We deal with a lot of paperwork and phone calls throughout the day. The phones don't seem to stop ringing some afternoons. I have a small desk tucked in the corner that is always covered in stacks of invoices and delivery notes. Managing a food product company involves a lot of tedious checking on expiry dates and batch numbers. It’s easy to make a mistake if you’re tired or distracted by the noise. The street outside is lined with nice trees, which is helpful when I step out for a bit of fresh air. We have a few vans that come and go, dropping off supplies or taking out the finished goods. Coordinating the drivers is probably the hardest part of my day because of the terrible traffic in this area. Sometimes they get stuck for hours and I have to explain the delay to frustrated people on the phone. We aren't a massive corporation, just a group of people trying to keep the wheels turning. The walls could really use a fresh coat of paint, but we never seem to find the time or money to get it done. We just stay busy with the work.
