You can find our spot at Plot No. 187 on Maharshi Devendra Road, right on the Strand Road side. If you know the area, you know how packed and noisy it gets with all the porters and carts moving around. Our building is right in the thick of it. We have a ground floor space where we keep all the heavy tea sacks and crates. It’s a bit dark inside, and the air is always thick with the smell of jute and tea leaves. We’ve been in this part of town for quite some time, and we’ve seen the streets change, even if our work stays mostly the same. Every morning is a bit of a struggle to get the shutters up and the sidewalk cleared for the day's business. We don't have any polished brochures or a fancy sales pitch. We just show people what we have and let them decide for themselves if it suits them. It’s a gritty, hardworking environment. We spend a lot of time sweating in the heat and shouting over the noise of the traffic outside. It's not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. We deal with bulk mostly, so there’s always a lot of heavy lifting and tallying up the numbers at the end of the day. It is just our corner of the city, and we keep things running as best as we can without much fuss.
