Cookme Spice Pvt. Ltd. is situated near Maharshi Debendra Road in the Jorabagan area. If you know this part of the city, you know how congested the lanes can get with all the wholesale activity going on. We spend our days surrounded by the smell of different ground spices. It gets in your clothes and stays there, but you get used to it after a week or two. Our building isn't anything special to look at, just a practical place where we get the work done. We handle a lot of bulk orders and the staff is usually busy weighing and bagging things up. There is always a lot of shouting and rickshaws honking outside our door. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just have to wait it out or work by the light coming in from the street. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, we just focus on getting the spices ready and out the door on time. The floors are often covered in a fine layer of powder despite how much we sweep. It's a bit of a messy job, but it’s honest work. We have some old machines that make a lot of noise, but they still run well enough for us. Most of the people working here have been with us for years and know the routine by heart.
