We operate out of the CORD office in village Rasan, near Sidhbari and Yol. The house number is 2223 if you’re looking for us on the map. This part of the world is right under the big mountains, and it’s a good place for a farmer company to be based. We’ve got a lot of local farmers who are part of this group, all trying to help each other out with the harvest and getting things sold at a decent price. It’s not a fancy operation by any means, and we don't pretend it is. We spend a lot of time just talking to people in the village and seeing what they need for the next planting season. My neighbor handles some of the paperwork for us, and he’s still learning how to use the computer properly, so things can be a bit slow or messy sometimes. But we always get there in the end. We don’t have a big mission statement or any corporate goals written on the wall. We just want to make sure the families around here can keep their farms going without losing money. The weather can be a bit unpredictable with the mountain storms, so we spend a lot of time looking at the clouds and worrying. It’s just us, a bunch of locals, working together in the shadow of the peaks. We take things one day at a time and try to stay honest with each other about what’s working and what isn't.
