Chandelsatyam Agrofed Farmers Producer Company Limited is basically just a bunch of us working together from Jagir Singh’s place in Jhandutta. If you come by, you’ll probably find us sorting through bags or talking about the latest rains. It’s a bit messy sometimes, but that’s farming for you. We didn't want to keep working as separate families all the time because it’s getting harder to make ends meet on your own. By forming this company, we can talk to buyers as one group instead of ten different people. We do our best to keep things simple. Most days are spent worrying about the water or the pests, and the office work happens when the sun goes down. Jhandutta is a good place, but you have to work hard to get anything out of the ground. We share what we know and try to learn from the mistakes we made last season. There’s always a mistake or two to fix, like a broken fence or a tractor that won’t start when you need it most. It isn't fancy here, and we don't have a big shiny office. It's just a room with some chairs and a lot of talk about the crops. We're just glad to be doing this together. It feels more solid that way for everyone involved in the village. It helps us feel like we have a bit more control over our future. We aren't looking for miracles, just a decent harvest each year.
