You can find us over at Suharu Ram’s place in Patro. Agribite Agrofed Farmers Producer Company Limited is what we call ourselves, but mostly we are just neighbors. We spent a long time thinking about how to get our produce out to people without losing all the money to middlemen who don't even know what the dirt feels like. It’s been a bit of a learning curve for all of us here in Patro. Some days we are better at the farming part than the company part. We deal with the usual stuff like seeds, fertilizers, and trying to figure out why one patch of land is doing better than the other one next to it. It’s a group effort. We sit around on benches and figure out the schedules. It gets loud when everyone has a different idea about when to harvest. But we get through it. The name Agribite sounds a bit modern, maybe, but we are still the same people who have been here for generations. We just want to make sure the work we put into the fields actually pays off. It's about looking after the families and the land we’ve got. Sometimes we just sit and drink tea while waiting for a truck to show up. That’s just the way it is. No point rushing things that take their own time to grow. The sun gets hot in the afternoons, so we usually take a break then. It gives us a chance to catch up on the local news.
