Changar Farmer Producer Company Limited is located in Village Kalakerpo Kauna, out in Tharul. Pawan Kumari is the one handling things at that address. The Changar area is known for being a bit dry and the ground can be stubborn, so we have to work twice as hard to get things to grow. We formed this group because we were tired of struggling on our own. In Tharul, we grow a variety of crops, and it’s always a challenge to get the timing right. Our office in Kalakerpo is just a small place where we keep our records and meet to discuss the next steps. It’s not very organized some days, with people coming in with muddy boots and lots of questions. We talk about seeds, water, and who is going to take the next load to the market. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want our village to do well and for the farmers to get a bit more respect for the work they do. It’s a lot of sweat and long hours under the sun. We’ve all known each other for years, so the company is really just an extension of our community. We try to help the younger folks stay interested in the land because it’s important. We’re just a local bunch trying to make a living from the earth in Kalakerpo. The old ways still work best for some things, even if we are a company now.
