We have been operating out of Virender’s place here in Bhoj Koti for a while now. It is basically Satpal’s son’s house, so most people around the village know exactly where to find us if they need anything at all. Farming around here isn't always easy, especially when the rain doesn't show up when it is supposed to, but we keep at it anyway. The group started because a few of us figured we might as well work together instead of everyone just doing their own thing and hoping for the best. It gets pretty busy during the harvest time, and the yard gets a bit crowded with bags and equipment everywhere. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit much, sitting around the wooden table trying to sort out who needs what for the next month, but that is just how it goes. We are not trying to do anything fancy or big, just getting the crops sorted and making sure things run okay for the families involved. Usually, you will find someone hanging around the porch talking about the market prices or complaining about a tractor part that broke down again. It is just us, really. We don't have a big office or anything, just the front room and the storage space out back. We try to keep things simple because that is what works. If you walk past, you will probably see the dogs sleeping in the shade or someone loading up a small truck. It has been a long season, but we are still moving.
