The Monk

The Monk is situated in the Epitome Building on Silpukhuri Road. We are right in the middle of Silpukhuri in Guwahati. It is a nice spot and we have been here for a bit now. Being in 781003 means we get a lot of local students and office workers coming in. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. We are just a regular place where you can sit down and have a meal. The building is easy to find if you know Silpukhuri. We try to keep the atmosphere relaxed. We don't have a big philosophy or anything fancy like that. We just want to serve good food and make sure the place is clean. Running a restaurant in Guwahati has its ups and downs, but we like being here. The staff is local and we all just work together to get the job done. Sometimes it is quiet and we sit around talking, and other times it is so busy we can barely keep up. We don't put out a lot of advertisements because we prefer people just finding us by walking past the Epitome Building. It feels more natural that way. We are just a small part of the neighborhood, and we are happy with that. No corporate talk, just us doing our work. We focus on the daily chores.
