Florentine

Florentine is located inside the Hotel Gateway Grandeur on G S Road. We are right in the Christian Basti area which is always full of activity in Guwahati. Being part of the hotel we see a lot of guests who are traveling for work from other cities. It is a convenient spot for people to meet up and have a meal together. The 781005 area is pretty central so we get locals stopping by for dinner too. The restaurant has a simple layout with basic tables and chairs. We do not go for anything too flashy or modern. The staff is a small team and we have mostly all worked together for a couple of years now. G S Road is famously busy but the hotel building keeps some of that traffic noise out. We serve a variety of dishes that appeal to the different people staying here. It is not a fancy gourmet setup but just a reliable kitchen that stays open late. We have our regulars from the nearby offices who come in for lunch. Sometimes we run out of certain ingredients if the delivery truck is late but we make do with what we have in the pantry. It is a practical place to work and eat. We do not have any corporate slogans or anything like that. We just focus on the daily tasks like cleaning and prepping the vegetables. It is a lot of work every day.
