Door Chester Restaurant

Door Chester Restaurant is located on the second floor of a building in Chand Market. That is right on A T Road in Guwahati. It is a very crowded and noisy part of the city, but we like being here. You have to walk up a few flights of stairs to get to us. We’ve been in this particular market for quite a few years now. Guwahati keeps changing and growing, but A T Road always stays hectic with all the traders and shoppers moving around. Our restaurant isn't very big, but we have enough room for folks to sit down and eat. We don't have any big signs or bright neon lights outside. It is just a regular place where local people from the market come to have a meal. Sometimes it gets a bit loud because the street noise from below drifts up, but that is just how it is in Chand Market. We handle everything ourselves, including the cooking and the cleaning up afterward. It is a lot of physical work every single day, but we are used to it. Most of our customers are the same people we see every week, mostly shop owners and workers from nearby. It feels like a small community inside this big market. We don't have any grand plans. We just keep the kitchen going and serve whoever walks through the door.
