Our place is situated in Panbazar, very close to Handique College. Because we are so near the college, we see a lot of students coming in between their classes to get something to eat. Dighali Pukuri is just a short walk away too, so it is a fairly busy part of Guwahati to be located in. We have been at this spot for a few years now. It is not a very big space, just enough room for the tables and the kitchen area in the back. We try to keep things moving along quickly because the students are always in a rush to get back to their lectures on time. The sign hanging outside is a bit faded from the sun, but people around here know where we are. It gets noisy in the afternoons when everyone is out on the street. We just do the cooking and serve the food as it comes out. Sometimes we run out of certain items early if it has been a particularly busy day. We don’t really do anything fancy or special here. It is just a local spot for a regular meal. My brother and I manage all the daily stuff ourselves, from buying the ingredients to cleaning up the tables at night.
