Sakshi

Sakshi is located right in the middle of Paltan Bazar in Guwahati. If you know the area, we are on Manipuri East Road, just opposite the Kiranshsree Protico. Paltan Bazar is always crowded, no matter what time of day it is. There are buses, rickshaws, and people everywhere. Our shop is right in the thick of it. We have been here for a long time, watching Guwahati grow and change around us. It is a small place, nothing like the big malls you see popping up. We keep things basic. The shelves are full, and there isn't much room to move around when it's busy, but people seem to manage. We don't use any big words or fancy slogans to describe what we do. We just sell what we sell and talk to the customers who have been coming to us for years. The rain in Assam can be heavy, so we spend a lot of time making sure the shop stays dry during the monsoon. It’s just the two or three of us working here most days. We know the other shopkeepers on the road and sometimes we share tea in the afternoon when things slow down. It’s a very ordinary life here in the bazar. We don’t have a big plan for the future, we just want to keep the shop running like it always has.
