Prashaanti Restaurant

Prashaanti Restaurant sits right by Dighalipukhuri in Guwahati. It’s a busy little corner of the 781001 area, especially with the High Court so close by. We get a lot of lawyers and people with court dates coming in for a quick lunch or just a cup of tea. It’s not a very big place, so it can get a bit cramped when the lunch rush starts around one o'clock. We’ve got regular tables and chairs that have been here since we opened. The walls have some old pictures on them and the fans are always spinning to keep the Guwahati heat away. We don’t have a massive menu with hundreds of items. We just cook what we know people like to eat every day. It’s the kind of food we’d make at home. Sometimes the noise from the street outside gets a bit loud, but inside everyone is usually too busy eating to notice. Being near Uzan Bazaar means we get fresh stuff for the kitchen pretty easily. The staff here are just local folks who know how to get the plates out fast. We don’t do any of that fancy plating or use expensive tablecloths. It’s just a straightforward restaurant for people who are hungry and need a seat for thirty minutes. You won't find us on any big award lists, but we keep the doors open and the food hot, which seems to work for the neighborhood.
