Moti Mahal Delux Tandoori Restaurant

We are over at 6/11 in Anil Plaza on G S Road. It’s in the Banghagarh area of Guwahati, 781005. The road outside is always packed with cars and bikes. It’s one of those busy stretches where there’s always something happening. Our restaurant is a bit of a refuge from all that noise. It’s not a huge place, but we’ve got a good tandoor going. The heat from the oven is what keeps us warm in the winter. In the summer, we just sweat it out and drink more water. I’ve lived in Guwahati my whole life, so I know a lot of the people who come in. It’s more of a community thing than just a business for us. The walls have some pictures on them, nothing special. We use simple plates and cutlery. My head cook has been with me since we opened. He knows exactly how much spice to put in everything without even tasting it. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just rely on people walking by Anil Plaza and spotting us. Sometimes we run out of certain ingredients if the local market is closed, but we always manage to make something good. It’s just how it is running a place in Banghagarh. We stay open late most nights because the street never really sleeps around here. It's a hard job but it keeps us all fed.
