Mishti Restaurant

Our place is right there on Haridwar Road, just a short walk from Sonali Bridge. If you know Roorkee, you know how busy that spot gets with all the cars and people going towards the university or the market. We are situated right opposite the A to Z Automobile shop, so it’s easy to spot us. I started Mishti Restaurant because I wanted a place where people could just sit and eat without too much fuss. It is a simple setup, nothing too grand. We spend most of our mornings getting the kitchen ready and making sure the tables are wiped down. The noise from the road is always there, but you get used to it after a week or two. It feels good when the regulars come in and we already know what they want to order. We aren't trying to be the biggest place in town, just a steady one. Some days are slower than others, especially when the weather is bad, but we still open up at the same time every morning. Running a restaurant near the bridge means we see a lot of travelers passing through. We just focus on the cooking and keeping the place clean. It is a lot of work, honestly, and my hands are usually tired by the end of the night, but it is our livelihood. We just stay here and keep the stove going because people need to eat lunch and dinner.
