Fozi Dhabha

Fozi Dhabha is out here in Begaumpur, right in the Naya Sidkul area of Bahadrabad. If you know this part of Haridwar, you know it’s mostly factories and people moving around for work. We set this place up to give those folks a spot to eat that wasn't complicated. It’s a basic dhaba, the kind where the chairs might wobble a bit and the menu is mostly what we have fresh that day. During the shift changes at the factories, it gets really crowded and we are all rushing to get tea and plates out. The road outside can get quite dusty with all the trucks passing through towards the highway, so we spend a lot of time just dusting things off. It’s not the quietest place to sit, but it’s real. We have been at this address for a bit now, and we’ve seen the area grow quite a bit with more buildings coming up. Some days the heat is a lot, so we just keep the water cold and the fans running. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you might see different people from the house helping out behind the counter or in the back. We don't have fancy lights or anything, just enough to see what you're eating. Most of our regulars are truck drivers or people working nearby who just want a heavy meal before they head back to their tasks.
