Agarwal Vaishnav Bhojnalaya

Our bhojnalaya is located at Shiv Murti Chowk in Haridwar. If you find Hotel Shiv Murti, you just look at the downside and there we are. Being in a place like Haridwar means we see a lot of people from all over India. Most of them are just passing through for a day or two. The space we have is a bit tucked away, so it stays a little cooler than the main street. We don’t use any fancy table cloths, just plain surfaces that we can wipe down quickly after someone finishes eating. The sound of the traffic outside is constant, but you get used to it after a few days. We keep things strictly vaishnav because that is what the people around here expect. The kitchen sink is always full of dishes because the flow of people never really stops. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just open the doors in the morning and wait for the first customers to walk down the steps. It’s a practical way to run a business. We know the local shops around us and we all sort of help each other out when needed. The lighting is just basic tube lights. We aren't trying to win any prizes for how the place looks, we just want to make sure there's enough food for everyone who comes in.
