Mahalakshmi Shiv Shakti Vaishno Dhaba

We are set up right in front of the Shanidev Mandir in Bongla. This is in the Bahadrabad area of Haridwar, so we get a lot of people who are on their way to the temple or traveling down the highway. The dhaba is a simple place with benches and tables. We only serve vegetarian food here because that is what people expect in this part of the country. The kitchen is right at the back where you can see the tandoor going most of the time. It gets very hot near the fire, especially when the lunch rush starts and everyone wants their rotis at the same time. We don't have any fancy menus or waiters in uniforms. It is just us and a couple of helpers who know how to serve fast. Most people stop here because they are tired from driving and just want some hot dal and sabzi. We make sure the water is cold and the floors are swept every few hours. The location is good because you can't really miss the temple, and we are right across from it. Sometimes when there is a festival, the whole road gets blocked with people, and we stay open much later than usual. It is a basic setup, but it works for the travelers and the locals who live around Distt Haridwar. We just try to keep the food fresh and the prices fair.
