Thommoos Chinese Restaurant

If you know Banerji Road in Ernakulam, you know how busy it gets. We are right there at number forty-one slash forty-two ninety-eight, directly across from Saritha Theater. Having Thommoos Chinese Restaurant in this spot means we hear the movies and the crowds every single day. It is a lively place to be, even if the traffic right outside the door is constant. We spend most of our time in the back, getting the food ready and making sure the kitchen is running right. It gets hot back there, but we are used to it. The staff is like a small family, and we have our own way of doing things that might seem a bit disorganized to an outsider, but it works for us. We are also across from Paul and Sons, so we see a lot of people moving between the different businesses on this stretch of Banerji Road. People come in for a quick bite before a show at the theater or after they finish work nearby. We don't try to be anything we are not; we are just a local place serving food to whoever is hungry. Ernakulam is a fast-paced city, and we are just trying to keep up with the daily flow of people. We keep the tables wiped and the floors swept, and we stay open until the last customer is done. It is just how things go for us.
