Tharavadu Restaurant

Tharavadu Restaurant is tucked away inside the Casino Hotel building on Willingdon Island. It’s a bit of a unique spot, being out here on the island away from the main city buzz. We’ve been part of the Casino Building for a long time. It’s not a flashy, modern place; it has more of an old-school feel to it. We don’t have a marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us, the cooks and the servers, making sure things run okay every day. The island can be quiet sometimes, which we actually quite like. We don’t go for anything too corporate or polished. Our setup is pretty simple and we just focus on the cooking. Sometimes the humidity out here is a bit much, but we have the fans going. Most of our guests are people staying at the hotel or folks who work around the island and want a break. We aren't trying to change the world, just providing a place to eat that isn't too complicated. The staff has been around for a while, and we just do our jobs without much fuss. We keep the tables clean and the kitchen busy. It’s a straightforward way to run a business. If you find yourself over on Willingdon Island, we’re easy to spot in the hotel building. It’s just a local place doing what we know how to do every day.
