Tandoor Punjabi Restaurant

You can find Tandoor Punjabi Restaurant on Layam Road, right off M G Road in Ernakulam. We are directly opposite Bhima Silver Palace. Being on M G Road means it's always noisy outside. We’ve been here for a bit, serving mostly Punjabi style dishes. It's a long way from Punjab, but we try our best with what we have. The kitchen staff works hard. Sometimes the spices are a bit stronger than usual, depends on the batch. We don't have a dress code or anything like that. Just come as you are. The interior is pretty basic. We focus more on the heat of the oven than the decorations on the walls. It’s a family-run kind of thing. My uncle handles the register sometimes. We get a lot of shoppers coming in after they finish at the nearby stores. Ernakulam is a busy place, and we are right in the middle of it. We don't have a massive menu, just the things we know how to make well. The floor gets a bit slippery when it rains, so we have to be careful. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks. If the food is good, people talk. That’s how we survive. We are just a regular restaurant trying to make a go of it on Layam Road. We stay open through the afternoon and into the late night hours. It's just simple cooking without any unnecessary fuss.
