Taj Mahal Restaurant & Home Stay

Our place is tucked away on K B Jacob Road in Fort Kochi. We’re actually situated right behind the Kerala Kathakali Centr and very close to the Santa Cruz Basilica. It's a nice little corner of Kochi, if we do say so ourselves. Taj Mahal Restaurant & Home Stay is basically two things in one. We have the rooms for people staying over and then the restaurant side for meals. It's not a big corporate setup, just us running things day to day at 1/939. Being in Ernakulam - 682001 means we see a lot of travelers who are here to see the sights. We try to keep the atmosphere relaxed. The building is older, which gives it some character, but it also means there’s always something that needs fixing. We do our best to keep up with it. Sometimes the smells from the kitchen drift up to the rooms, but most guests don’t seem to mind much. It feels more like a house than a hotel most of the time. We aren’t trying to be the most modern place in town. We just want to provide a decent bed and a good meal for whoever walks in. It gets pretty humid here, but the breeze from the coast helps a bit. If you’re wandering around Fort Kochi looking for the Basilica, you’ll probably stumble across us. We've been here quite some time now, and we've seen plenty of rainy seasons come and go. It’s just how things are in this part of Kochi.
