Susan Family Restaurant

We've been right here by the Kaloor bus stand for a good while now. It's usually pretty loud outside with the private buses coming and going, but once you step inside the building, things quiet down a bit. My family and I run the place ourselves. You'll mostly see commuters rushing to catch a ride or people working in the nearby shops stopping in for a quick lunch. It isn't a fancy setup. We have the usual tables and chairs, and the kitchen stays busy from morning till late evening. Sometimes the fans are on full blast because it gets really warm in Kochi, especially during the summer months. We just focus on getting the food out on time so nobody misses their bus. It's a lot of work, honestly. My nephew helps out with the cleaning, and my sister manages the register when it gets crowded. We know most of the drivers who park out front. They come in for tea and a talk when they have a break. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here because they see the sign when they walk past the building. It’s just a normal spot for a meal without any extra fuss. We keep things simple because that is what works for us and the people who eat here every day. It's just a regular part of the neighborhood.
