New Malaya Chinese Restaurant

Down here in Palarivattom, life moves pretty fast, especially with the National Highway 47 right outside our door. New Malaya Chinese Restaurant is tucked into the Oasis Building on the Bye Pass Road. It is quite easy to find us because we are sitting right opposite EMC Hospital. We get a lot of people coming in who are visiting the hospital or just tired from driving on the highway. It’s not a quiet place, but that’s Ernakulam for you. The sounds of cars and buses are always in the background while we work in the kitchen. We started this place because we wanted a spot where people could grab some Chinese food without any fuss. The interior is simple, and we spend most of our time making sure the food is ready for the next person who walks through the door. Being on a main road like this means we never really have a slow moment. Sometimes the rain here gets heavy and everyone piles inside to stay dry and grab a hot meal. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just a few of us running the show every day. We know the regulars by name and we know what they usually like to order. If you are ever stuck in traffic near the Palarivattom bridge area, just look for the Oasis Building. We will be here, probably chopping vegetables or taking orders for the lunch rush.
