Muziris Samovar

We are located in the Sui Building on Chittoor Road, right near Pullepadi Junction. If you know Ernakulam, you know this area is always crowded with cars and people. Our place is called Muziris Samovar, and we’ve been here serving the local crowd for a while. We do a lot of tea and snacks, the kind of things people want when they are taking a break from work. The morning starts with the sound of the kettle and the smell of fresh ginger. We have a few tables where people can sit and talk, and usually, there’s a bit of a breeze coming through the door. It’s a humble spot, nothing like those modern cafes with the loud music. We prefer things a bit more traditional. Our staff is mostly from around here, so we speak the local language and know what everyone likes. We get a lot of regulars who come in at the exact same time every day. It’s nice to have that kind of routine. The junction outside can get pretty hectic with the traffic, but inside we try to keep things moving smoothly. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just making sure the tea is hot and the snacks are fresh. It’s a lot of washing cups and serving plates, but we don't mind the work. It’s just our way of making a living in the city and being part of the neighborhood.
