Kanai Family Restaurant

You can find us inside the Hotel Mareena Regency on Hospital Road. It's right off M G Road in Ernakulam, near where Kalyan Silks is located. Being inside the hotel makes it easy for travelers, but we get a lot of local families too. That's why we named it a family restaurant. We wanted a place where parents and kids could just sit down and eat without feeling like they had to dress up. It’s not fancy at all. The tables are simple and we use the same recipes we’ve had for a long time. Ernakulam is always busy, but Hospital Road is a bit more manageable once you get off the main M G Road. We keep the kitchen running all day. Sometimes the wait for a table is a bit long on Sunday afternoons because everyone comes in after shopping. We don't have a big website or fancy ads. We just put our sign out and cook. Most of the staff has been with us since we opened. We treat each other like family, which I guess spills over into how we treat the customers. If you are near the silks shop, just walk over to the hotel and you’ll see us there. It’s a plain, honest spot to grab a meal. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to feed people good food. Our door is always open for anyone who is hungry.
