Vatika Restaurant

Vatika Restaurant is located inside the Best Western Hotel Madhuban on Rajpur Road. Being on Rajpur Road means we are in one of the busiest parts of Dehradun. The hotel has been here a long time, and we run the restaurant on the ground floor. It’s a bit different from the standalone places because we have to handle the hotel guests too. The mountain air here is nice, but the traffic has gotten quite bad lately. We don’t have a huge staff, just a few cooks and waiters who have been with us for years. The dining room has big windows, but sometimes the view is just the cars going by on the street. We don’t put on airs or pretend to be something we’re not. It’s just a place to get a meal when you’re in Dehradun. We spend our mornings checking the supplies and making sure the tables are set. Sometimes the kitchen gets a bit backed up if there’s a big group staying in the hotel, and we just have to work through it. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks. Most people come in because they’re staying upstairs or they know the Madhuban name. It’s a steady job and we like the routine of it. We keep things simple and focus on the daily tasks like cleaning the glass and checking the fridge. It’s just a regular part of life on Rajpur Road.
