Our restaurant is located in Chandan Palace on GMS Road, right across from the Wadia Institute here in Dehradun. It’s a pretty easy place to find if you’re in the area. We’ve been here for a bit, just doing our thing and serving the locals. We aren't a big chain with a lot of rules, just a small crew trying to keep people happy. The kitchen is small but we make it work, and the dining area has that lived-in feel. We focus mostly on getting the fire right because that’s the most important part of what we do. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy bags of coal and prepping the vegetables every morning. We don’t use any fancy marketing tricks to get people in. Usually, it’s just word of mouth from people who live nearby or work at the institute. We like the pace of life in Dehradun, and we try to reflect that in how we run things—unhurried but efficient enough. Some days the weather is nice and we can open up the windows, other days it’s cold and we huddle around the heat of the grills. We just want to be a reliable spot where you know what you’re getting. It’s a simple setup, and we plan to keep it that way for as long as we can. It's just us at Barbeque Planet, doing our daily shifts.
