Appetite Restaurant

You can find us at Ballupur Chowk, right on GMS Road here in Dehradun. It’s a busy intersection, so there is always something going on outside our windows. We opened Appetite Restaurant because we wanted a place where people could just sit down and eat without any fuss. The interiors aren't fancy; we just have tables and chairs that do the job. We get a mix of people—students, families, and folks working nearby. Dehradun has changed a lot lately, but we try to keep things the same in our kitchen. We use the local markets for our ingredients, and the menu is mostly things we like to eat ourselves. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you’ll usually see one of us standing at the back or checking the tables. Sometimes we run out of the daily special before noon, and we have to tell people sorry. It happens. We don't have a big advertising budget. Most people just see us while they are waiting at the signal or walking to the market. The mountains are close by, and the weather gets nice, which brings more people out. We keep the floor swept and the water jugs filled. It’s a lot of work staying on your feet all day, but we like seeing the familiar faces. It’s just a normal restaurant in a normal part of town. We just keep the doors open and the food ready.
